TECOPA, CA - MAY 22 - After the extreme heat during the day, Travis heads inside to catch up on the date fruits that have stockpiled over time due to lack of labor and maintenance.
Travis manages a family-owned date farm located in Tecopa, California. However, earlier this year, a series of intense "monsoon" weather patterns, brought about by recent atmospheric rivers, unleashed severe floods that inflicted substantial damage upon the farm. Sadly, this incident is just one of many extreme weather events that have rendered the maintenance of the farm nearly insurmountable. As Travis struggles with the mounting expenses and labor required to sustain his farm amidst more frequent extreme weather events, major polluters are reaping record profits.
